One product family.
Every size checked against your limits.
A pilot for manufacturers with CNC routers: one model for every size in your range.
Any product you cut from sheet materials and make in different sizes or options, such as shelving, cabinets or wardrobes. No Grasshopper or parametric experience needed.
The cost of redrawing
Does someone draw each new size from scratch, check it against sheet sizes and machine limits, then fix it at CAM prep if it doesn’t fit? If so, that time comes out of your margin on custom and short-run orders. One model
We build a parametric model of one product family from your drawings and specifications. You enter the dimensions or options, and the model produces the geometry. Each size generated with your measured stock and checked against your machines and tools with every change, with the reason for anything you can’t make. Output into your existing CAM, where you check it as usual. Anything not recorded in the database can still reach the shop, which is why that check stays. How Datafurn works
What a pilot looks like
- We sign an NDA and agree scope, duration and ownership in writing.
- You share drawings or specifications for one product family, and your machine, material and tooling data.
- We build the model, load your limits and connect the two.
- You compare the output against what you’d normally produce.
Already run on made-to-order furniture
The approach behind Datafurn first ran at our founder’s made-to-order furniture business, where customer configurations were bounded by design rules. Datafurn adds the manufacturing layer that was missing. About Datafurn
If you sell your range online
If customers order in custom sizes, the same model and limits could check each order against what your workshop can cut before it arrives. We plan to explore this during the pilot. How do you handle custom orders today?
